The Cavendish area is probably the one that is most visited by tourists because it is here you can find the home of Anne of the Green Gables, a character from the popular novel written by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Cavendish Beach is a long sandbar where you can walk for hours. We didn’t even make it to the end of this long beach …

I grew up on Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea so I would be amongst those tourists even without peeking the loveliness of the area through the medium of your wonderful pictures!
Thanks Osyth…I have to confess that I have never read Anne of the Green Gables so I am not certain what the fuss is all about. The area around the house is a bit tacky but the beach is gorgeous.
Très chouettes photos. Sacré plage en effet!
Merci Vivien. Bien contente que ces photos aient su vous plaire.
Oh, a beautiful walk….
Thanks Vicky. It was indeed.
Gorgeous – I spent my time on PEI on Anne pursuits. If we ever go again I will try not to be so blinkered!
Thanks Anabel. As I have said to Osyth, I have never read the novels so couldn’t quite get the fuss but can undstand that if you are familiar with the novels, it is important to chase it. The area is quite nice and does deserve a bit of attention.
I think Cavendish is over rated as a beach but it’s length is a wonder. You pictures are lovely and they capture the erosion issues of the Island whether you intended to do so or not.
Thanks Jacqui. I agree with you that Cavendish wasn’t the prettiest beach of the island but walking almost its full lenght was very interesting. We noticed the erosion everywhere we went…
It looks like you had more days of amazing clouds. I love the way they just seem to hang over the beach.
Thanks Joanne. We had 10 days of very changing weather so we had a bit of everything. Glad you enjoyed this series.
Beautiful captures again!
Thanks Roselinde. Glad you enjoyed this series.
I feel like I need to wash my feet!
Thanks Julia. Glad you enjoyed this series. Yes, I think your feet are full of sand!
