Pour notre première journée complète dans la région des gorges du Tarn, nous avons décidé d’aller marcher malgré une pluie soutenue parfois assez forte. Après tout, nous avons les vêtements pour affronter le mauvais temps (voir la dernière photo!). Ce sentier assez facile n’avait que 4.5 km et sillonnait au travers de fascinants rochers ruiniformes. Les formes pouvaient parfois faire penser à des personnages ou des animaux. Ce sentier se trouve sur les Causses de Méjean et fait partie du Parc national des Cévennes. La pluie et le brouillard ont donné une atmosphère assez intéressante à ces formes.
For our first full day in the region of the Gorges du Tarn, we decided to go hiking despite sustained rain sometimes quite strong. After all, we have the clothes to face the bad weather (see the last photo!). This fairly easy trail was only 4.5 km long and crisscrossed through fascinating ruiniform rocks. The shapes could sometimes be reminiscent of characters or animals. This trail is located on the Causses de Mejean and is part of the Cevennes National Park. The rain and the fog gave a rather interesting atmosphere to these rock shapes.

This made me want to write a silly caption: ‘Pierre et les pierres’. 😉 The rocks are so craggy and grey yet you capture depth and many interesting textures. I especially like the burnt yellow shades of ochre and rust.

Since it was raining you likely had the trail to yourselves. And despite the rain, the photos are wonderful. I thought the stone formation in the second one looked like a big bear sitting with his legs sprawled out. Thanks forperesrvering to give us these great photos.
Thanks Jacqui. Yes, we were absolutely alone on the trail and we know that the weather did add to the pictures. We could have gone without the heavy rain but in the end everything was fine and we even had a moment without rain when it was time to eat our lunch.
Un magnifique chaos auquel le temps gris et pluvieux va comme un gant. C’est une superbe série, j’adore. Il y a des lieux à qui la pluie va bien, même si en visitant on aimerait un peu de soleil et être au sec. Très très beau
Merci Marie. Nous avons pensé exactement la même chose: la pluie donnait un atmosphère particulier à ces formations mais nous aurions préféré être plus au sec. Nous étions toutefois bien habillé donc nous n’étions pas trop mouillé.
