After 3 busy days exploring the area around Albany, we headed toward Hazelvale to discover the area of tall trees. We made several stops on the beautiful beaches of this coast.
Our footsteps were the first to walk the sand at Cozy Corner Beach (Kronkup) and leave a trace of our passage until the next tide. We then continued our drive to Shelley Beach in West Cape Howe National Park. A belvedere allowed us to have a splendid view of this beach as well as to meet a blue-tongued skink (Tiliqua occipitalis). There were several fishermen on the beach and some interesting birds. A most enjoyable walk.
We were looking for a place to eat our picnic and looking at the map we saw a nature reserve so we decided to stop there. Without really knowing what to expect, we discovered an inlet with beautiful rocks and pelicans. The last stop of the day was in William Bay National Park where we swam in Green Pool (briefly because the water was cold) and then visited Elephant Rocks in the shape of a herd of elephants. We ended the day with a beautiful sunset at the farm where we had taken up residence.

Pristine lands.. superb!!
Thanks Christie. Glad you enjoyed this series.
What a lovely way to spend a day. My favs in this series are the bottle brush and the rusty plough. Both photos are colourful and their subjects well framed.
Thanks Jacqui. Always like knowing your favourites…Glad you enjoyed this series.
They have the best beaches in the world!
Thanks Eliza. They certainly do… the beaches are spectacular.
Beautiful!
Thanks Anabel. The beaches in Australia are spectacular and these ones were particularly beautiful. Glad you enjoyed them.
I’m just catching up on your posts as for some reason I’ve missed quite a few! As always, I am enthralled by the beach and rock colour combinations. Also love seeing some of the wildlife…is the skink dangerous?
Thanks Mel. Not to worry about having missed a few of our posts. We have had so many on Australia that it is difficult to keep up though we are getting to the end of the series; two more posts coming next week and then we will be done and able to move on to the other two trips we have done since then. The beaches and the rocks were indeed amazing and fascinated us. Australia is an amazing country.
