The Loop is the name given to Chicago’s business district. This name probably comes from the fact that several lines of the aerial train describe a loop that encircles the heart of the district. Many will tell you that you have to visit the Loop on a weekday while the sidewalks are packed with workers. It is true. But walking there on a foggy Sunday morning is also a great opportunity to admire the architecture and find different photographic angles!

Great post 😄
Thanks for your note and sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Your note was stuck in my Spam folder and I only saw it today. Glad you enjoyed this series.
Nice photos. I had not seen the Trump tower before despite it’s name, it’s lovely. I also like the flamingo sculpture. Isn’t there a similar one in NYC or am I mistaken?
Thanks Jacqui. There were quite a towers that weren’t there on our last visit in 2001. It was great to see all of these new beautiful building. And you are totally right that there is a similar Calder’s sculpture in NYC…
Very nice composition on the images!
thanks for your note. Glad you enjoyed this series.
Some of these remind us why they are called ‘sky scrapers’. I especially liked the wavery image in the reflection of the building on Wacker Drive. And the Chagall tile work.
Thanks Mel. They certainly are scraping the sky… Chicago is renowned for them. Glad you enjoyed this series.
We love Chicago as well and are going this November, we can compare sites!
Thanks David & Laura. So glad you enjoyed this series. We also love Chicago and we hadn’t been in so many years. We certainly hope to be back sooner than later.
