For our last day in the Park, we decided to hike the “Sentier des Chutes et de la Montagne Blanche”; a 13.8km hike with an elevation of 550m. This trail climbs quite gradually towards several waterfalls and then offers a short steep climb to reach the granite summit of Montagne Blanche, the highest peak in the park which rises to 553m. The summit offers 360° views of the fjord and the surrounding mountains.
In three days, we walked more than 32km; our legs were a little tired but what a joy to be in the forest and to enjoy such beautiful views. A very nice stay and a park to remember.

Well you invited me to join your walk on that tree lined avenue and what a vista at the top! The rock photo (second to last) reminded me of the rocks around Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia.
Thanks Jacqui. Glad you enjoyed this last hike of our trip. The view was indeed well worth the climb and the Canadian Shield rocks are always fascinating. I have never been to Peggy’s Cove but I have seen images so I think you are right… We were hoping to go this summer but then Nova Scotia & New Brunswick closed its borders to other Canadians (which I find disturbing that we can’t even trust each other within the same country!)
I hear you but I get it. All of the cases in the Maritimes after the outbreak in a Halifax nursing home, have been traced to Canadians coming from other provinces. For me, I can’t visit family on either coast, tourism is out of the question.
Beautiful set, Suzanne, and great shadows in the first. 🙂
Thanks Jane. Glad you enjoyed this series.
Beautiful views! And I love the reflection in the last one.
Thanks Anabel. The views were very nice and well worth the effort of climbing 550m. There were a few places with water reflections but this one was the best…
SO beautiful!!
Thanks Eliza. It was indeed. We particularly liked this hike; the summit was beautiful and the views 360°. And the weather was perfect! We couldn’t have asked for more!
What a gorgeous walk with superb views – glad you could get away for a break 🙂
Thanks Rosemary. It was a lovely hike and it was good to get away from the city for a week (this trip was made in mid-July). We are making another short trip to hike in another region of Quebec soon. We hope to see plenty of fall colours…
Look forward to the autumnal photos! 🙂
