Pour notre deuxième escapade du mois d’août, nous avons pris la route vers le Bas-du-Fleuve, une région que nous aimons tout particulièrement. Notre premier arrêt fut dans le joli village de Saint-Jean-Port-Joli. Ce village est réputé pour sa tradition de sculpture sur bois mais son attrait principal demeure sa situation géographique sur la rive sud du fleuve St-Laurent. Nous avons passé plusieurs heures à nous promener sur les rives rocheuses à marée basse. Les détails des roches ainsi que la végétation sont absolument fascinants.
For our second trip in August, we took the road to the Bas-du-Fleuve, a region that we particularly like. Our first stop was in the pretty village of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli. This village is renowned for its tradition of wood carving, but its main attraction remains its geographical location on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. We spent several hours walking around the rocky shores at low tide. The details of the rocks as well as the vegetation are absolutely fascinating.

The textures and the ‘movement’ of the rocks is fascinating. My favourite shot is number 6 in the series which show the colourful survival of a plant within the rocks.

Je n’ai pas pu commenter vos articles mais je les regardais sur mon tel mobile où l’espace commentaire était trop petit pour mes vieux yeux. Contente de pouvoir les apprécier en taille originale.
Merci Marie. Bien contente de te relire. Nous n’avons pas été très actif sur le blogue cette année n’ayant que très peu voyagé. Nous espérons nous remettre aux voyages bientôt donc nous devrions avoir un peu plus de photos à présenter. Il y aura quelques billets supplémentaires sur cette dernière escapade de la fin août ensuite cela ira probablement à décembre avant nos prochains billets.
Désolé d’apprendre tous tes soucis avec l’Internet; c’est à ces moments que l’on réalise que nous en sommes assez dépendants…
